Privacy Policy and Disclaimer

Basin Telecommunications, Inc. (BTI) is the incorporated name of the company that provides Internet-related services through the name BTInet. This Privacy Policy and Disclaimer pertains to the following URLs hosted by BTInet: http://www.btinet.nethttps://secure.btinet.net and http://subscribers.btinet.net. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, the company will be referred to herein as BTI.

Personal Information Collection and Use

BTI collects information from our users at several different points on our Web site, including but not limited to names, addresses, phone numbers, passwords and operating system information. We will not sell, share or rent this information to others in ways other than what is disclosed in this statement. In order to protect the information being gathered, this site has security measures in place including firewalls, encryption and authenticated access to internal databases where needed. BTI is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. If during your visit to our site you send an e-mail to BTI, your e-mail address will be collected as a means to reply to you. We may forward your message to a business associate or partner for appropriate action.

Log Files

Log analysis tools are used to create site statistics summaries, which are used for administering the performance of the Web sites, diagnosing problems, enhancing usability and determining which information is of most interest to our users and customers. BTI collects the following information from users or clients in our log files for analysis only:

User client hostname - the hostname, or IP address if the DNS is disabled, of the user/client requesting access to our site. User agent information - includes the type of browser, its version and the operating system it's running on. Referrer - specifies the page from which the user/client accessed the current page. System date - the date and time of the user/client request. Status - the status code the server returned to the user/client. Content length - the content length, in bytes, of the document sent to the user/client. Method - the request method used. Protocol - the transport protocol and version used.

Sharing: BTI may share only aggregated demographic information with partners and advertisers. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person. BTI also may partner with another party to provide specific services. When the user signs up for these services, we may share names or other contact information that is necessary for the third party to provide these services. These parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services on behalf of BTI.

BTI contains links to other sites. BTI is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of other Web sites that collect personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected on this Web site.

Surveys and Contests

From time to time, BTI may request information from users via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary; therefore, the user has a choice whether or not to disclose information requested. That information may include contact information and demographic information (such as zip code, age level). Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes.

Security

BTI takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the Web site, your information is protected both on-line and off-line. If a registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information, that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL. While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information on-line, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment, behind locked doors.

Supplementation of Information

Site and Service Updates

We occasionally send via e-mail an announcement or update about our site and services to our users. Users are not able to un-subscribe from these e-mails because they contain important information about our services. We also communicate with the user via e-mail, phone, fax or postal mail to provide requested services and/or information on issues related to their account.

Correcting/Updating Personal Information

If a user's personally identifiable information changes, or if a user no longer desires our service, the user can call our Customer Service Department at 701-557-5151 or 1-800-287-2810 or by e-mail at customerservice@btinet.net.

BTI links to Web sites maintained by entities outside our control. Each of these entities has the responsibility of setting their own privacy policy and posting it on their Web site. When you leave a BTI domain for another, you are subject to the privacy policy of the new domain. Although BTI makes every attempt to keep the information on this site up to date, we do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability or timeliness of any information published within this site, nor do we endorse any content, viewpoints, products or services linked to from this site.
